In addition to public parks the Town enjoys open space areas. Sometimes these are described
as “passive parks” when public access to hike or walk trails is permitted.

Bedford Hills Park
Katonah Memorial Park

Beaver Dam

County Parks and Private Nature Preserves
Additionally, there are county parks and private nature preserves within or adjacent to the Town.

A preserve either forbids dogs, or requires them to always be on lease. These include:

The Glebe/St Matthews and Arthur Ketchum Memorial Sanctuary in Bedford
Walking is permitted, no bicycles.

Piney Woods near the Narrows

Tom Burke Preserve (Westchester Land Trust)
7 acre site

Seth Tobias Preserve
36 Acres

Mianus River Gorge Preserve
(a private not-for-profit organization)
These are private trails. Dogs are prohibited on trails. Lies in Bedford and North Castle.

Bedford Riding Lanes Association (BLRA)
Membership is required to walk or ride these trails. The trails connect to other preserves, such as Marsh Sanctuary in Mt. Kisco
