Bedford Economic Alliance
The Bedford Economic Alliance (BEA) is a dedicated effort by the Town of Bedford to lift up, support and promote businesses throughout the town.
With a goal of forming alliances among business leaders, nonprofits, civic groups, and economic drivers, the BEA will provide platforms for knowledge-sharing and collaboration.
Our launch event on May 4th included dynamic speakers and networking opportunities. If you are a business owner/leader in Bedford, we are inviting you to complete our feedback survey to solicit feedback and continue brainstorming about ways in which the Town can best support businesses and foster collaboration between stakeholders.
Bedford Economic Alliance Launch
Over 100 people attended the launch of the Bedford Economic Alliance. We gathered at the Bedford Hills Community House with business owners from all over town – storefronts to service professionals, at-home start ups to food trucks. The powerhouse program was facilitated by Fran Hauser and included:
- Casey Carter – Bijou
- Jason Charles – Bazodee Street Foods
- Cori Estrow & Mike Leibowitz – Country Willow
- Marialisa Zywotchenko – Cyrus Contracting
The program highlighted what is possible if everyone with a goal of economic vibrancy makes some time to connect: inspiration, resources, generosity, jobs, advocacy, events, marketing opportunities, investors, mentors and community. The panel discussion was powerful and inspiring. In Fran’s final question, “What’s one word that describes what connections mean to you?” We heard: Relationships, Strength, Community, Relationships (again!) and Inspiration. These responses will help us shape what the BEA can do to help!
If you are a Bedford business owner/leader who did not attend our launch event but would like to share your feedback about the Bedford Economic Alliance, we invite you to complete our feedback survey.
Many people connected with Bedford Business promoter Laurie Hilliard last night. Her contact is businesspromoter@bedfordny.gov if you would like to follow up.
