Hispanic Heritage Committee Kick-off Meeting
The Bedford Hispanic Outreach Committee met for the first time at the Bedford Hills Train Station to discuss their plans for an upcoming event and other goals.
Town residents who joined the kickoff meeting include:
- Dolores Vidal-Roy,
- Claudia Gomez,
- Kelly Diaz,
- Yumiko Calderon,
- Celeste Potash,
- Grace Beltran-Battaglia,
- Elizabeth Pineda, and
- Board Member Andres Castillo
Together this group shares a wealth of experience in community engagement and also represent all three hamlets of Bedford as well as various nations from across Latin America.
This group intends to meet on a regular basis to hold meetings, put on events, and and develop initiatives to promote a stronger sense of community among our Hispanic/Latino residents as well as an equitable and inclusive environment where families are connected to resources and opportunities for civic engagement and leadership in Bedford and beyond.
The committee is determined to build bridges across diverse communities, ensuring that Hispanic and non-Hispanic residents are aware of one another's culture, viewpoints and needs, which will benefit the town as a whole.
If you're interested in connecting or getting involved with our Hispanic Outreach Committee, please email Town Board Member Andres Castillo.
