The Consolidated Water District will be obtaining water supply from an interconnection with the Village of Mount Kisco and our Harris Road Well from 10/16/23 – 11/8/23. This change is required since NYC will be shutting down our normal supply, the Delaware Aqueduct, for that period. District customers may notice a slightly different taste due to the change in supply
As background, the Bedford Consolidated Water District serves approximately 2,000 customers in Bedford Hills and Katonah. The District’s primary sources of supply is the NYCDEP Delaware Aqueduct. In October 2024, NYC plans to require that the District use alternative supplies for approximately eight months due to NYC’s construction work on the Delaware Aqueducts. The District intends to use the Harris Road Well and Mount Kisco Interconnection during that shutdown. Both are approved for use by Westchester County Department of Health. NYC will have several shorter Delaware Aqueduct shutdowns in preparation for planned October 2024 work.
