Request by Finance to Accept Abstract of Claims and Paid Priors in the amount of $150,580.27 for 2024 and $2,090646.60 for 2023

5.III.

Request to Approve Tax Certiorari Settlement

Request by Assessor Harold Girdlestone to Approve Tax Certiorari Settlement in the matter of Trustco Bank Corp, NY v. Town of Bedford Assessor, total Town refund $0.00.

5.IV.

Request to Adopt Resolution to enter into IMA with the Bedford Central School District for the provision of two School Resource Officers through June 30, 2024 at a cost of $75,000 per SRO and to authorize the Supervisor to execute the IMA.

5.V.

Request to Approve the Annual IMA with Student Assistance Services Corporation as it relates to the Tri-Town Drug Abuse Prevention Program

Request to Approve use of $91,856 Consolidated Water District Fund Balance for Mt Kisco Purchased Water

Request to approve DPW Fee Schedule Modifications

Highway permit fee was changed from $300 to $350 and water district rates adjusted per the approved in the 2023 budget.

Notice of Re-Levy of Delinquent Water and Sewer Accounts

Request by Comptroller Abraham Zambrano to acknowledge the report of delinquent water and delinquent sewer accounts as of January 5, 2024, and acknowledge unpaid accounts as of March 1, 2024, are to be re-levied (with penalty) when Town tax bills are created as required by Chapter 120 of the Town Code. 

5.IX.

Request to Update Recreation & Parks Department Part-Time Staff Salary Ranges

Request by Superintendent of Recreation & Parks Chris Soi to approve the Proposed 2024 Bedford Recreation & Parks Department: Part-Time Staff Salary Ranges set forth in the back up memo and as reflected and approved in the 2024 budget.

​Request to Appoint Shannon Ward to Court Senior Office Assistant

Request to Approve the probationary appointment of Shannon Ward to the position of Sr. Office Assistant in the Court Office, at an annual salary of $56,360.22, with a start date of January 22, 2024.

5.XI.

Request by Director of Energy and Sustainability to Submit Application for Technical Assistance to Improve Energy Efficiency for Rental Properties

American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy (ACEEE), a nonprofit research organization will offer no-cost technical assistance opportunity for up to 10 local governments and community-based organizations. Technical assistance will support communities seeking to improve rental home energy efficiency while also preserving and/or expanding housing affordability.

NEW BUSINESS

6.I.

Request to Close Capital Projects

Request by Comptroller Abraham Zambrano to approve closing out the list of completed capital projects and authorize the additional funding and transfer of unused funds to the debt service funds retroactive to December 31, 2023.

6.II.

Request to Authorize Actions by CCNW to Improve Town-Owned Property at 84 Bedford Rd.

Request by Community Center of Northern Westchester to Adopt Resolution Authorizing their Application to Planning Board and other actions to improvements to town-owned property at 84 Bedford Road.

6.III.

Request to Amend Section 117 of the Town Code to enable paid Parking in Lot 2 in Katonah

Request to set a public hearing for Tuesday, February 4, 2024, at 6:05 PM  to make changes to the Town Code to enable permit parking and pay-by-app parking in Lot 2 in Katonah by deleted Section 117-12 D.

Request to Set a Public Hearing to Modify Parking on Broad Brook Road

Request to set a public hearing for Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 6:00 PM to consider change to local law designating no parking areas to include Broad Brook Road on the North side of the road from Springhurst Road to 220' east of Springhurst Road.

Request to Consider Task Force to Evaluate and Make Recommendations for Community Preservation Fund

Request by Open Space Acquisition Committee to adopt resolution to form a Task Force of local stakeholders to research the implications and impact of a potential Land Preservation Fund, evaluate public support and potential land to protect, and report back to the Town Board with a recommendation regarding Bedford's participation under the NYS Community Preservation Act.  

6.VI.

Committee Appointments

  1. Request to make three appointments to the Veteran's Committee:  Jim Polos (reappointment), Hank Bergson and Thom Newman.  And to thank Howard Stern for his extensive and long-term contributions to the committee.  
  2. Request to reappoint Clayton Rose to the Bedford Village Historic District Review Commission and to reappoint him as chair of this commission.
