PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

OFFICIAL NEWSPAPERS

Request to designate the official newspaper of the Town of Bedford for notices and publications as the Record Review and secondary newspaper as the Journal News.

3.

ASSOCIATION OF TOWNS

Request to authorize the Town's membership in the Association of Towns including payment of the annual dues and authorization of Supervisor Ellen Calves to vote at AOT meetings on behalf of the Town. 

4.

FINANCIAL POLICIES AND DESIGNATIONS

Recommendation of Comptroller Abraham Zambrano to take the following actions:

4.I.

Approve Investment Policy

Request to approve the 2024 Investment Policy. 

4.II.

Designate Town Credit Cards

Request to adopt resolution approving designated credit cards for payments and purchases.

4.III.

Designate Depositories

Request to approve the following resolutions:

  1. To designate the following banks as the depositories for the funds and accounts of the Town of Bedford: JP Morgan Chase Bank, Webster's, TD Bank, and Orange Bank & Trust;
  2. To designate the municipal investment consortium NYCLASSS as an additional depository.
  3. To authorize the Supervisor, Board Member Bobbi Bittker, and the Comptroller to transact business with the designated depositories.

Adopt Mileage Reimbursement Rate

Request to adopt the updated mileage reimbursement rate for use of personal cars on Town business at the approved IRS rate of $.67 cents per mile.

4.V.

Adopt Resolution Regarding Conference and Seminar Attendance

Request to adopt resolution to authorize Supervisor to approve attendance of Town officials at seminars, conferences, and other trainings.

4.VI.

Authorize Payments Prior to Audit

Request to adopt resolution authorizing that certain payments may be made in advance of the audit and that the members of the Town Board constitute an audit committee to audit bills and claims against the town prior to payment and the Finance department liaison will review vouchers prior to disbursement and present to the board for approval.

5.

RATES AND AGREEMENTS FOR CONSULTANTS, CONTRACTORS, AND OTHER SERVICES

Request from various department heads to approve proposed rates for the following service providers and to authorize the Supervisor to enter into agreements for their services to the Town in 2024.

7.

STANDARD HOURS

Request by Personnel Director Tanya Orr to approve the established standard hours for Town of Bedford civil service positions as required by law.

8.

APPOINTMENTS

Request by the Town Supervisor to appoint the following persons to the following positions for a term of one (1) year commencing (retroactively) on January 1, 2024, and ending on December 31, 2024.

8.I.

Town Historian: John Stockbridge

 John has served as Historian for twenty (20) years along with his colleague Christina Rae to research and preserve town and family histories and document ongoing history in the making. Town Historian also serves as a member of the Historic Building Preservation Commission and Cemetery Committee.

8.II.

Town Attorney: Eric Gordon, Keane & Beane

8.III.

Stormwater Management Officer: James J. Hahn

9.

APPOINTMENT OF DEPUTY SUPERVISOR

Supervisor Ellen Calves appoints Town Board Member Stephanie McCaine as Deputy Supervisor for a term of two (2) years starting, retroactively, January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025.
