Location: 343 Railroad Avenue, Bedford Hills. Open from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

WHERE TO RECYCLE
TOWN RECYCLING CENTER
YOUR CARTER (SINGLE STREAM RECYCLING)
Numbers 1 through 7. Labels need not be removed. No items such as flower pots, cassettes or furniture.
Must be tied or in paper bags. Also phonebooks.
|OTHER PAPER GOODS |
Magazines, catalogs, glossy newsprint material, junk mail, envelopes, color inserts, brochures, school and computer paper. No books.
Clean food bottles and jars, liquor and wine bottles, Medicine containers, soda and beer bottles. No windows, mirrors or drinking glasses.
Flattened, with all liners, Styrofoam packing, plastic and paper removed.
Empty and rinsed clean, lids and labels may be left on: clean aluminum foil, pie plates, trays, aluminum cans, depressurized aerosol cans, metal food, juice and other tin cans (soup, fruit, tuna, vegetable, pet food, etc) and empty oil and latex paint cans – leave them open and let the paint residue dry first. If you can lift it, Bedford can recycle it.
No air conditioners or refrigerators.
Clothes, shoes, curtains, sheets, coats, blankets, pocketbooks,etc. – in clothing bins at recycling center and they don’t have to be clean!

|ELECTRONIC WASTE |
Flat Screen Televisions, Computer Equipment, Scanners, Printers, Fax Machines, Keyboards and accessories, circuit borads, cabling and wiring, etc.
CRT monitors and TVS are accepted at a fee.
Older style (not flatscreen) monitors and TVs containing CRTs are accepted for a fee,
Residents must complete a CRT Recycling Application and pay the fee at the Town Clerk's Office.
Drop off biodegradable food waste including scraps of raw or cooked vegetables, grains, dairy products, meats and bones, etc. Compostable "bio bags" accepted. No plastics or price/brand stickers.
