Building Health & Performance Committee
The Bedford Building Health & Performance Committee (BHP) was established to help create a new law to allow for the proper inspection and benchmarking of rental units and to create new policies that improve overall building performance, address health and safety conditions created by indoor air pollution, moisture, and serious safety issues and work in partnership with building owners by providing support to improve the performance of rental-units.

Drug Abuse Prevention Council
The Council is dedicated to the concept of primary prevention, which is defined as a program of activities directed at improving the general well-being of the community as it relates to raising awareness about the dangers of alcohol and other drug use and abuse.

Cemetery Committee
Working under the direction of the Town Historian, this Committee consults with conservators to determine needed preservation projects, seek grants and funding from government and private organizations and individuals.

Communications Advisory Committee
The Bedford Communications Committee advises the Bedford Town Board with respect to cable television franchise agreements with Verizon, Cablevision and any other business entity.

Board of Ethics
In 1985 the Town of Bedford established the Board of Ethics through the adoption of its Code of Ethics.

Filming Committee
The Film Committee is advisory to the Town Board to assist the Board in promoting television and photo shoots and other filming activity while minimizing inconvenience to the community.

Bedford Town Housing Committee
The Town of Bedford created the Town Housing Agency to administer fair and affordable housing created under the requirements of the Town’s Zoning Law.

Inclusion, Diversity & Equity Advisory Committee
The IDEA Committee, was formed on July 28, 2020 by Resolution of the Town Board. The committee has hosted multiple cultural events, Pride Month activities, Juneteenth celebrations, a gathering for Spanish speaking families and has recommended policies to the town board including an adopted policy on the process for committee appointments and chair term limits as well as a recommendation that the Town Board engage a strategic consultant to do DEI training and visioning for the Town Board.

Neurodiversity Friendly Town Task Force
The Town Board established The Neurodivergent Task Force to undertake in 6-12 months to solicit feedback and produce a report and launch an initiative to promote a more friendly town for those individuals with Autism and other neurodivergent disabilities.

Open Space Acquisition Committee
This committee was formed as part of the Town’s commitment to preserve open space and is comprised of seven members appointed by the Town Board.

Prison Relations Advisory Committee (PRAC)
It is our mission to unite those on the outside with those on the inside of the prison walls; to “adopt our prisons”. We are composed of nineteen members who are committed to engaging and integrating the entire community of the Town of Bedford, regardless on which side of the prison wall one lives.

Recreation & Parks Advisory Committee (RPAC)
This group is advisory to the Recreation staff and helps with the planning and promotion of recreational activities for all ages in all the hamlets. The nine members represent a cross section of the community and are always open to new ideas.

The Committee on Seniors will focus on promoting policies and programs designed to help keep Bedford’s senior citizens healthy, vital, and active.

Todd’s Pond Committee
The Todd’s Pond Advisory Committee (TPAC) was created by the Town Board in June, 2019 to consider the condition of Todd’s Pond in Katonah, including but not limited to the impact of solids/silt accumulation in the pond and the extent to which the pond functions as a flood control component in the immediate pond vicinity and/or other parts of Katonah.

Veterans Advisory Committee
The Veterans Advisory Committee (VAC) was established to advise the Town Board on matters relating to military veterans and their families, and raise awareness of and coordinate support for veterans.

The Police Community Group worked in collaboration with the Bedford Police Department to support recommendations from the Police Reform & Reinvention Initiative report.
