We were delighted to host the unveiling of the stunning Juneteenth Community Quilt. Community members and visitors worked together at the Town of Bedford and Caramoor's 2022 Juneteenth Celebration to create the individual squares. Containing the names of 22 Africans who were enslaved in Bedford, the quilt is both a way to remember and a tangible acknowledgment of the countless contributions that enslaved people forcibly provided to Bedford. The quilt is hanging in the rotunda of the Bedford Town Hall for one year before being moved to the permanent collection at Antioch Baptist Church.
