DIG Pilot Program
Bedford is thrilled to be the recipient of the Downtown Improvement Grant (DIG) pilot from Westchester County. The award assigned a consultant to work on a market analysis and recommendations for Bedford Hills with $250,000 available for implementation.
The consultant has created a survey to gather information from people in town and throughout the county to weigh in on what they want to see in the hamlet area that would make it a more desirable location to live, shop, eat, and visit. Please take the survey at westchestersurvey.org.
You are welcome to take the other surveys
Westchester County awarded $1.25 MM to be used in five selected communities: Bedford, Dobbs Ferry, Mt. Kisco, Pelham and Port Chester. You are welcome to take the surveys for those areas as well.
More information about DIG
Each of the selected communities receive a comprehensive market analysis, a custom-designed strategic economic growth plan, and six-months of hands-on technical support and assistance, and up to $250,000 support for implementation efforts. The Bedford DIG application was submitted in support of the economic revitalization plans imagined for Bedford Hills.
Through the DIG award, Bedford will be well-positioned to advance our strategic vision for revitalization of Bedford Hills, which is already underway. Thank you to County Executive George Latimer and his team for creating this pilot and seeing how our vision for a vibrant Bedford Hills has great potential.
