Public safety is of paramount importance to the Town of Bedford and delivered to residents through a comprehensive range of internal and external agencies, all of whom work collaboratively to ensure that Bedford is safe and residents healthy. Ambulance
Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps is an all-volunteer organization and the primary provider of basic emergency medical services in the Katonah and Bedford Hills area. Over 100 members respond to calls 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Bedford First Responders
In the Town of Bedford, there are three fire departments Katonah, Bedford Hills and Bedford Village as well as the Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance Corps (KBHVAC). All are volunteer organizations and in need of volunteers. No matter which hamlet you reside in or what your skills, training level or interests are, there is a role waiting for you as a Bedford First Responder.

Emergency Information
The department is the primary answering point for all 911 calls in the Town. Police, fire and emergency medical services are dispatched through the 911 system.
