Assessor
The Assessor is responsible for setting the assessed value of buildings and land within a parcel/property. The assessment is the value upon which a property’s taxes are based. Residents may apply for specific tax exemptions or challenge an assessment through the grievance process.

Building Department
The Building Inspector and his assistants are the enforcement authority for the Zoning Ordinance, Building Code, rules and regulations for fire prevention and a myriad of other regulations of the Town of Bedford.

Town Clerk
The Town Clerk is elected to a four-year term and serves as the Records Management Officer and the Registrar of Vital Statistics.

Court
Welcome to the Town of Bedford’s Justice Court. Our staff is here to answer your questions, and to help you navigate your court-related business, from paying parking tickets, traffic infractions, small claims and other law enforcement issues.

Finance
Along with the responsibility of paying the Town’s bills, the office of Finance also manages the payroll for the Town’s 121 full-time and 44 part-time employees.

Personnel
The Personnel Department is responsible for maintaining and coordinating all aspects of human resources for the Town of Bedford.

Planning Department
Bedford’s planning follows the Town's Comprehensive Plan and Town Code. The Planning Department manages the reviews and determinations made by the Planning Board, Wetlands Control Commission, and Historic Building Commission. The department also oversees development and initiatives of the Town.

The Bedford Recreation and Parks Department strives to enrich the lives of our residents by providing safe and welcoming parks, facilities, recreation programs and events for people of all ages. We work in partnership with our residents and in cooperation with other recreation service providers in the community in order to maximize all available resources. We are dedicated to building healthy communities and enriching the quality of life through people, parks and programs.

Tax Receiver
The Receiver of Taxes is responsible for collecting all taxes levied within the Town from the three school districts serving Bedford; Bedford’s portion of the Westchester County tax; Town and Special District taxes.

Town Historian
The Town Historian serves as keeper of Bedford’s wealth of oral and written historical documents. The primary focus of the Town Historian lies within property studies and genealogical inquiries.
